- There were 12 founding families who still own a great deal of the island.
- The island is made up of 9 parishes.

- A Bermudian may only own 1 house at a time.
- A family may only own 1 car. They can own multiple scooters or motorcycles but only 1 car.
- The white roofs of homes are actually used to collect water for their home. The roof is channeled down to a drain with a storage container at the bottom. There is a purifier to make the water pure to be used from the taps.

- Cemetaries are above ground due to the high water table. Multiple people are often put into a single grave.

- It is legal to have alcoholic drinks and drink them in the BACKSEAT of the car.
- When in Bermuda, find a moongate. As you walk through it, make a wish. The journey will bring you back to the island.
I personally think moongates look like Stargates from the tv show.
- Bermuda cedar were once dominant on the island. It was a vital part of Bermuda’s natural history and early settlers used it to build their boats and roofs. Between 1946 and 1953, 95% of these trees were killed off by juniper scale insects. Through great efforts in the 1980s, the trees have started to recover. The soft, red wood is still highly prized by woodworkers and the signature smell of cedar is known to most Bermudians.
- Prior to August 31, 2009, houses did not have to have an address. All houses had names, as can be seen below, and this is how the mail was delivered. After the date, numbers for addresses became mandatory.
