Travel Tips

  • Use a zippered purse that has a strap across your body.
  • In crowded areas, keep your purse in the front with your hand over top and men should put your wallet in your front pocket.
  • Use mosquito repellent to avoid bites and possible disease.

Flying Tips

  • Arrive to the airport in time with a minimum of 3 hours in advance for international fights.
  • Put any liquids that you are carrying on into a clear baggie prior to leaving your house. Remember the limit is a maximum of 100 ml per container. This includes creams such as lipstick, hand cream, mascara.
  • Carry your medications in your carry on with the prescription receipt in the prescription containers in case you are questioned.
  • Use the airport washroom just before boarding time. Boarding time is shown on your boarding pass.
  • Noise-cancelling headphones are wonderful on airplanes, not to just block out crying babies but the noise of the airplane.

Things to pack

  • Sunglasses with UV block to protect your eyes
  • Sunscreen with at least 30 SPF
  • A good pair of walking shoes
  • Rain jacket for sprinkles
  • Bathing suit
  • Snorkel gear (optional)
  • Baggies are good to have in case you need something sealable to carry something in.

Packing tips: Roll your clothes to save on space and keep them from wrinkling.

To save on space, put socks or underwear into your shoes in your suitcase/backpack.

Carry a small bag to put in dirty underwear and socks and keep them separate from clean clothes.
